Deal includes salary increases, creative rights
By DAVE MCNARY
Members of the Directors Guild of America have ratified a new two-year collective bargaining agreement with Assn. of Independent Commercial Producers.
The DGA made the announcement Thursday. The guild’s national board unanimously approved the contract on Oct. 24.
The DGA said the agreement includes salary increases, the adoption of a code of preferred practices on creative rights, and provisions protecting and securing pension and health coverage. It will expire on Oct. 31, 2011.
“I’m very pleased by the outcome of the commercial negotiations, especially considering the state of advertising in this economy,” said DGA President Taylor Hackford. “By working together with the AICP, we were able to find solutions that will benefit both sides of the table, ultimately providing more work for all of us.”
SAG and AFTRA reached a three-year deal with the ad industry’s agencies earlier this year.
