Atlanta is adding three more movie productions to its already booming film industry, according to Projectcasting.com.
“The Founder,” starring Michael Keaton, is based on a novel of the same name and centers on the life of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc. It will be directed by John Lee Hancock and is scheduled to begin filming in May.
MGM’s “Barbershop 3,” starring Ice Cubeand Cedric the Entertainer is also heading to the Peach State in May. “Barbershop” and “Barbershop 2” were both huge successes, pulling in $75 million and $65 million, respectively. Malcolm D. Lee will direct, according to Deadline.com.
Nick Cannon and rapper Nelly will film supporting roles in “Rollin’ Thunder” in Atlanta this summer. The movie is about a former bowling champion turned ex-con who enters a bowling tournament as a means to make amends with a local tycoon and his estranged teenage daughter.
