The ‘Furious 7’ production and cast visited our sunny shores to shoot some key action scenes.
UAE-based companies, background actors and staff were tapped to help with the Abu Dhabi production.
According to Miranda Davidson, CEO of Miranda Davidson Studios, they’ve casted 200 local extras of different ages and nationalities for the film. Real estate agent Samira Behyari was one of them. She says: “It was such a fun experience to step out of my daily routine, get the chance to be on a movie set and meet actors I previously had only seen on screen.”
Car specialists PP-Performance Abu Dhabi, owned by Emirati car enthusiast Salah Almoudi, provided a fleet of souped-up luxury cars, which included a Mercedes CC 63 with 900bhp, a Dodge Viper and the world’s fastest super car, the Bugatti Veyron.
Miranda adds: “With these kinds of opportunities in the UAE, we have a great platform to keep cultivating the local film industry and provide more locally-based job opportunities for cast and crew. Now is a great time for people to get involved in any way they can.”
