VALDOSTA — An upcoming film industry seminar offers participants a chance to learn about the business of film.
Linda Burns, an Atlanta-based producer, is running the seminar and will educate participants about different film jobs as well as the expectations of those jobs, set etiquette and terminology.
“It’ll give people the nuts and bolts,” said Jason Brown, assistant professor in Valdosta State University’s Department of Communication Arts. “This is what their first job in the film industry will look like.”
The seminar has room for 100 participants. The seminar is open to the community with spots reserved for local college and high school students.
Burns has put on similar seminars and workshops in conjunction with the Atlanta Film Festival and the PA Academy.
The seminar will be held Dec. 6 at Valdosta State University.
Further details on the time and location are held for people who register in advance.
There will be no same-day registration.
To register, participants can pick up applications at the South Georgia Regional Library, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce, the Annette Turner Center for the Arts and participating high schools.
