Two unique film-making workshops are being presented at the University of Hawaii at Hilo by San Francisco-based Dawnrunner Productions.

The First, ‘Producing for Film, Television, and Web’ will be held on Friday, Mar. 6 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the UH-Hilo Campus Center room 301.  The session takes an inside view of the producer’s role in filmmaking.  Attendees will learn the ABC’s of making an idea a film reality through production and distribution.  Admission is free for UH-Hilo, HawCC, and high school students.  The cost is $25 for non-students.

A two-day workshop will follow on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 7-8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. covering ‘The Language of Motion Pictures’.  The weekend session will be presented at UHH’s Hale Olelo Building in room 217.  The two-day intensive immerses attendees in hands-on experience with the Dawnrunner crew, covering the technical and practical aspects of creating a film.  Learn everything from gripping, operating the camera, cinematography, directing, sound recording, and more.  No prior experience is necessary but participants must be at least 14 years of age.  Space is limited.  The cost to attend the two-day workshop is $50 for UH-Hilo, HawCC, and high school students, and $150 for non-students.
