Film Industry Training Seminar – Oct. 17 and 18


The Film and Television Production Seminar is a two-day workshop designed to provide practical training for an entry level Production Assistant position in the film or television industry.  Participants will gain valuable knowledge and insight into the entertainment industry and will learn about on-set etiquette and protocol from seasoned filmmakers. This valuable training will provide the tools that everyone needs to walk confidently onto any commercial, television, new media, theatre, or movie set.

THE TRAINING WILL INCLUDE

·         Understanding the motion picture industry

·         Who’s who on a film set

·         Script breakdown

·         Scheduling procedures and techniques

·         Film set language, protocol and etiquette

·         Production paperwork overview

·         Health and safety practices

·         Production Assistant duties and responsibilities

·         How to get a job

The Faculty 

The seminar will be taught by Scott Carter, a Virginia-based Assistant Director and actor whose credits include The Wire, Lake City, The New Daughter and America’s Most Wanted.  He will be joined by Scotty Curlee, Assistant Professor of Cinematic Arts at Liberty University and founder and Executive Producer of Red Cloud Productions and Gloriana Wills, who most recently worked as First Assistant Director for Shooting the Prodigal.  The class was developed by Gary Romolo Fiorelli, an accomplished Assistant Director for film and television, whose credits include Sons of Anarchy, Mistresses, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Blades of Glory.
