Caribbean film industry strides forward

The Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival (ttff) held a cocktail event to thank their sponsors that have unwaveringly supported the local and Caribbean film industry. The small gala was held at ttff headquarters in Belmont yesterday.

The event also highlighted ttff latest projects, a Caribbean Film Mart and Database.

According to external relations director of ttff, Nneka Luke, these two projects will definitely bring more exposure to Caribbean films.

“The Caribbean Film Mart is a three-day session that is intended to match 15 Caribbean film makers with projects in development; with 30 industry professionals we are hand-picking and bringing in. The idea is to get more film projects made, marketed and distributed by virtue of this programme. The Caribbean Film database is a database of information on Caribbean film that does not exist right now in the Caribbean or Trinidad and Tobago,” Luke said.
